Position Summary

The Trust Investment Officer (TIO) plays a critical role within Dunham Trust’s Investment Services team, leading direct client engagements and overseeing sophisticated investment portfolios across a wide range of asset classes. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong investment acumen, client relationship expertise, and the ability to contribute to strategic decision-making in committee settings. The TIO will also lead the development of investment reporting materials for both internal and board-level oversight.

This is a highly collaborative, high-impact position that reports directly to senior leadership and partners closely with Trust Officers and Associates, Business Development, Compliance, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Client Investment Management

  • Serve as the lead investment officer for assigned client accounts, including direct communication and relationship management with clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and external partners.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and performance evaluations aligned with investment objective and fiduciary guidelines.
  • Oversee complex investment portfolios including due diligence on public securities, private equity, private debt, real estate, and alternatives.

Investment Committee

  • Prepare board-level investment reports and presentation materials for Trust Investment Committee.
  • Participate in Dunham and Associates Investment Counsel (DAIC) quarterly asset allocation meetings and manager monitoring.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise onboarding of client investment accounts and coordinate third-party account setups.
  • Maintain and review cost basis, valuation, and performance data in portfolio systems (Orion, Salesforce, and other platforms).
  • Support the strategic allocation process within DTC’s internal investment programs, including rebalancing, tactical adjustments, and model oversight.

Investment Servicing & Fiduciary Oversight

  • Monitor investment portfolios for compliance with trust provisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of fiduciary reviews and delegated advisor oversight.
  • Track and coordinate activities related to private investments: capital calls, distributions, valuations, and registration changes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 5–10 years in financial services or wealth management with client-facing investment responsibilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field. CFP®, CFA®, or CTFA® designations are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel; experience with Orion, Salesforce, and/or comparable investment and CRM platforms. Mind mapping software experience helpful.

Additional Information
This is a full-time salary, in-office role based in Reno, Nevada. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available at this time.

Salary commensurate with experience:  $75,000–$100,000 annually (bonus potential)

Dunham offers a complete benefits package to full-time employees who regularly work more than 30 hours per week. Interns and temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
