REGIONAL SALES ASSOCIATE

Dunham & Associates Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, “Dunham”) is a thought leader in the financial services industry. The way we work is a direct reflection of our company culture; we believe in accountability, putting our clients first, and constantly striving for growth. Since 1985, Dunham has grown to become a multi-billion-dollar firm. We work with close to 1,400 Financial Advisors across all 50 states.

Dunham & Associates Investment Counsel, Inc., a subsidiary of Dunham, is an independently owned, registered Broker/Dealer and Investment Adviser helping Financial Advisors and individual investors reach their long-term goals. The firm's focus is on providing disciplined wealth management solutions and related services.

This Is a Phone Sales Role and a Launchpad to a sales career On-Site in San Diego.

If you're early in your career, hungry to break into financial services, and not afraid to spend most of your day on the phone then this is where you start. As a Regional Associate, you'll work alongside our Regional Account Managers and Regional Directors to learn the wholesaling business from the ground up while building real relationships with financial advisors across your assigned territory.

You'll be pursuing your FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses while actively contributing to territorial sales and not just shadowing. We'll invest in your training and licensing. In return, we expect the drive to earn it every day.

If you thrive making 60+ outbound calls a day, love the rhythm of a full pipeline, and measure your days by conversations started and doors opened then keep reading. This is not a role for someone waiting to be told what to do next.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Spending the majority of your day on outbound cold calls –building and maintaining relationships with financial advisors and prospects
  • Scheduling Regional Director appointments to set up productive field days
  • Backing up Regional Account Managers as needed while they travel their territories
  • Preparing sales proposals and other hypothetical illustrations
  • Following up on leads and referrals with consistency and urgency
  • Handling inbound inquiries for information, marketing materials, hypothetical illustrations, and other services
  • Keeping Salesforce records accurate and up to date
  • Actively studying for and passing your FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams within required timelines – this is a condition of continued employment
  • Owning your learning curve – asking good questions, absorbing feedback, and applying it fast

Who Thrives Here
  • Self-directed. You don't wait for someone to assign your next task. You come in with a plan and execute it.
  • High work ethic. You show up ready, stay focused, and put in the effort it takes — not just when it's easy.
  • Coachable and fast. You absorb feedback, apply it quickly, and keep improving without taking it personally.
  • A strong communicator. You're confident on the phone, personable with prospects, and clear in writing.
  • A team player. You collaborate well, lift the energy around you, and understand that your success is connected to everyone else's.
  • A great time manager. In a role that's 80% phone activity, you know how to structure your day, balance competing priorities, and stay accountable to your own goals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Evidence of academic excellence and a genuine passion for learning
  • Must obtain FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 within required timelines (mandatory for continued employment)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, juggle competing responsibilities, and work independently
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to energize those around you
  • Must work on-site at our San Diego office

Compensation
  • Base: $28.85/hour
  • Growth: A clearly defined path toward the Business Development Associate role and beyond — with promotion from within

Dunham & Associates has grown from $4.7B to over $7B in AUM because we invest in our people the same way we invest for our clients—with conviction and a long-term view. If you're ready to build something, we're ready to grow with you.
